The Australian System has served us all very well and we need to preserve control over who has the final decision in patient care. Currently the decision of patient care is made between the Patient and the Doctor and this is how it should be. In US managed care the final decision in patient care lies with the insurance company – Not the Doctor, Not the Patient and Not even a Healthcare Professional.
